Temple of the Dragon, also known as Sakura, is a stage in Dead or Alive 5.
Description[edit | edit source]
Temple of the Dragon[edit | edit source]
The stage takes place in a pagoda named Ryugaku-ji (龍顎寺 Ryūgaku-ji, lit. "Temple of Dragon Jaw"), with minimal items inside. The stage has three tiers, with the fourth tier being the Sakura stage. The first two tiers can be exited/entered via knocking an opponent through the floor or into an invisible barrier by the stairways. Small vases can be broken when an opponent hits them. The third tier can only be exited when an opponent is knocked through the thin walls. The opponent will then fall out of the pagoda, down a stone staircase, and into the Sakura stage.
Sakura[edit | edit source]
The stage serves as the base for the Temple of the Dragon. Sakura is simply a large, one-tier arena designed to look like a simple walled garden somewhere in rural Japan, with fights taking place during daylight. The garden is surrounded by historical buildings and large cherry trees baring blossoms; a gentle shower of petals falls down without the fights. While here, players will hear old Japanese court music in the background.
Aside from a few fences, seating covered by red paper umbrellas, and a large bell standing by one of the outer walls, this stage is pretty much empty. While it doesn't sound exciting, this makes Sakura perfect for players who want to fight without having to consider Danger Zones and additional hazards. This would also make Sakura one of the ideal spaces for training.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Temple of the Dragon stage is very likely based on the pagoda from Bruce Lee's Game of Death, both in its design and in name. In Game of Death, each floor was known as "Temple of the 'X'", one of them being "Temple of the Dragon".
