This article is for the musical theme "TehuTehu" and its subsequent update and remixes.
Throughout the Dead or Alive series, "TehuTehu" has been used as a theme for Ayane.
Arcade version[]
The original "TehuTehu" theme first appeared in the original arcade version of Dead or Alive 2 as the theme for Ayane.
Console version[]
"TehuTehu" was later updated for the home console releases of Dead or Alive 2. Appearing in also the DOA2: Hardcore games, Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate, and Dead or Alive Online, the theme was once again used as the theme for Ayane.
It is this version of the theme that has been used again throughout the series rather than the original arcade version.
The theme is also optional in Music Mode for Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate and Last Round, spelled "Tehu Tehu", though it can be selectable for any character and gameplay mode.
Ayane (or Tehu Tehu) Remix[]
The theme was later remixed as "Ayane Remix" and first appeared in Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate. It is heard while the player is fighting against Ayane in the Ray House.
It later appeared in Dead or Alive 4, renamed "Tehu Tehu Remix", and is heard when the player fighting against Ayane or Kokoro in the Crash Club.
Dead or Alive Dimensions remix[]
- The following article is based on a subject that has not been officially named; the current title is merely a placeholder.
The theme was given an unnamed remix for Dead or Alive Dimensions, and was used as the theme for Ayane.
Tehu Tehu -DW SW MIX-[]
The theme was once again remixed, this time as "Tehu Tehu -DW SW MIX-", and appeared in Warriors Orochi 3. The theme is also optional in the Music Mode in Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, though it can be selectable for any character and gameplay mode.
Trivia[]
- "Tehu" (てふ tefu) is an old form of the modern word "chō" (ちょう) which is written with the kanji 蝶 - "butterfly", and like all words in Japanese with two consecutive kanji which are the same, the second kanji is usually abbreviated with 々. Therefore, 蝶々 (tefutefu / chōchō) literally means "butterfly, butterfly." The title is closely associated with the design of Ayane and describes her as a butterfly herself.
