Systema is a Russian martial art. Training includes, but is not limited to: hand-to-hand combat, grappling, knife fighting, and fire-arms training. Training involves drills and sparring without set martial arts.
It focuses mainly on attacking and controlling the body's six major joints:
Via pressure point application, striking, and weapon applications, it allows users to weaken their enemies over time. It is still relatively unknown, but Systema or relatives to it are being taught by several practitioners inside and outside of Russia. Systema is often advertised as being a martial art employed by some Russian Spetsnaz units.

- Although Marie Rose is a practitioner of Systema, she adds many original moves that could be seen as clumsy or unorthodox by an experienced user of the art.
- In fact, according to one of the philosophies of Systema, the "spirit" or psychological state has to be 'calm, free of anger, irritation, fear, self-pity, delusion, and pride', yet Marie Rose exhibits most of the latter traits.
