A Shinobi is generally known as an outcast ninja.

However the real name for an outcast is in fact nukenin, and not shinobi, though this is heavily disputed.

The term Shinobi is usually affixed to Kasumi as she is a betrayer ninja who left her clan to find the person who injured her brother (Hayate) in the first game. Since then, she is known in her occupation as a runaway ninja, but not stated as a Shinobi or a Nukenin.
