  • To address your point on Nyotengu's occupation, by bio, I meant this blurb:

"I feel this could get very interesting

"A wild tengu princess has descended from deep within the mountains to experience the human world. Sensing the vibes emitted by this thing humans call 'vacation,' she loses her tengu wings to a mysterious power.

"Rumor has it that the one who wins the so-called "Venus Festival" held on this island would also win over the hearts of humans. Hearing this, she decides to join the festival for an authentic 'vacation' experience."

    Emphasis mine.

And as far as her nationality, she did call herself the female tengu of Mount Miyama, which last I checked was a locale in Japan, so she's pretty obviously Japanese, even if her nationality is listed as unknown.

    • Yes I know, but her occupation is still stated as unknown, so that is what I'm going on.

As for "Miyama no Nyotengu", she may well live in Japan, that much is in fact already stated in the trivia. But that doesn't mean she was born there or has Japanese nationality, so you can't say that. She is after all not human, so can she really have nationality of a human land? Remember nationality is a human construct, it doesn't simply mean where you live.

  • Hello!

While browsing the wiki pages, I came across articles about movie versions of characters and found that they were practically empty. May you helping with that and begin with Kasumi (DOA: Dead or Alive) since I am bad at English?

  • Look, if you still think the edit's bad, fine, but she does say regarding Honoka, and I quote, "The change in shape, that wet look, and texture. That soft, moist look I can almost touch ♥ ". If you have a better way of wording that bit, feel free to add it in.

    • If it sounds creepy or perverted it shouldn't be written on the wiki, even if it is a creepy or perverted game. Maybe it doesn't sound as bad in the original language. I might have a go at rewording it later, but as it stands, there's not really enough interaction between the two to warrant a section in the first place.

        Loading editor
    • Fine, we'll keep that line out. Still... We're keeping the section in. As far as "enough interaction", I think the fact that they even interact at all makes it pretty clear it warrants a section. It would be one thing if we were to add, say, Brad Wong in that section, since there's literally nothing indicating they even knew each other at all. Besides, I've seen people claim that Ariel and Eric from The Little Mermaid didn't have any "notable" relationships despite their romance literally being the key point of the movie (in fact, one editor on Disney Wiki even implied that it's only notable if Ariel and Eric despite being husband and wife utterly hated each other, as you can see here: https://disney.fandom.com/index.php?title=Prince_Eric&diff=3488994&oldid=3485006). Heck, Hayabusa killing Bankotsubo is pretty notable and significant since that was a key part of DOA2's storyline, yet you deemed that insignificant a little while back.

Let's look at the average person who reads this wiki. If they were to read it, and not have any familiarity with DOAXVV, they'd think Tamaki never interacted with Honoka at all, ie, didn't even walk past each other, when that's very obviously false. I know that happened to me with Grating Spaces, which you can see with this edit: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=AG177&type=revision&diff=465675&oldid=465392 To put it another way, average readers will most likely think, to quote Jocasta Nu in Attack of the Clones, "If an item does not appear in our records, it does not exist."

        Loading editor
    • We've been through this before and can agree to disagree, but just because two characters interact doesn't mean they have a "relationship", certainly not one worth noting, particularly if they only interacted once. Obviously we do not add characters for whom there's been zero interaction because there is literally nothing to state.

Ryu killing Bankotsubo may be a significant part of the storyline, but that can be put under the relevant section about the plot. There is very little actual interaction between the two (like two lines in DOA2!) and their relationship is merely that of two enemies. Similarly, if two characters interact but not enough to warrant an entire section to themselves, there's probably somewhere else where this could be stated, if truly necessary.

I would hope average readers wouldn't think like that because it just isn't logical to assume if something isn't stated here, then nothing must've happened. It's just a wiki. Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. And as I recall, Jocasta Nu was demonstrably wrong, so why would the average reader agree with her? Am I giving people too much credit?

Personally, I think if the average person were reading the wiki and the only info given for two characters' relationship was: x and y are somewhat friendly, but y groped x and thinks she's cute, they'd wonder why they're being told this at all. It's info they'd survive without.

The Grating Spaces example I gave from Bulbapedia certainly would prove otherwise. When I read the summary, not once did I get even the slightest impression that Jessie and James were the ones responsible for defacing Pewter Gym, so I edited it to indicate that Lola, Brock's mom, retained the graffiti despite saying she'd clean it up. Kenji Girl then stated bluntly that two painters were hired by Lola to do the painting, with the kids implying later on to recognizing the gym challengers/Team Rocket as such. I believe her exact words were "If you listened, Brock's siblings said two decorators came over and redid the gym and sent his parents on vacation. Infact, Brock was even freaking out when he saw it so who is it the same?" That's when I added it in, and pointed out that people who haven't watched the episode such as myself would NOT have known of this from the way the summary was done. And I'm pretty sure the same would have happened regarding the Tamaki example. They initially neglected to mention it, because they thought it wasn't important enough to mention, and that just led to confusion.

And I know that Jocasta Nu was wrong in that scene, but that's still what the average reader would think. There's a reason why the meme "pics or it didn't happen" exists in the first place.

  • I didn't mean to, I was adding a gallery and some glitch got rid of the others for some reason. It has happened before I don't know why. I told WeedleHairyBug and he's okay about it. DisneyFan18111928 (talk) 00:48, August 16, 2019 (UTC)

    • Edit: Ayane has a longer article page yet doesnt have Relationship page...

        Loading editor
    • That's because no one has bothered to make one for Ayane. If you would like to then you're more than welcome to. The idea came from the old admin Endless Enigma and Ayane's article was probably much smaller before they left. They were the most active editor.

  • FANDOMbot has deleted two bromide images from Xtreme Venus Vacation due to it allegedly violating TOS, despite the fact that both images came from that game, and even were posted on the official DOAXVV twitter account. Can you please do something to stop that bot from automatically deleting those images? I've put in a Fair Use tag for each of the two images as insurance to make clear that they are official images, and I've even posted on the message wall for that user the links to both bromides, yet he still insists on deleting the images. I uploaded them back in, but right now I'm getting sick and tired of having to convince him to stop removing them.

  • There's one slight problem with the idea that they're the Japanese gods. The way the trivia entries were conducted made it sound as though Nyotengu outright had command over them, and while she's not human, being a Tengu, I have a hard time believing a mortal, even a non-human mortal such as Nyotengu, would just command gods as if they were her servants.
