I found this out during a trip through the official Japanese version of DOA's Wikipedia page.
Originally Raidou was supposed to lead Hajinmon, and not Genra. But when Raidou went bat shit crazy and raped Ayame, the clan masters kicked him out, and placed Genra in charge of the clan, as he was the second most powerful of the Hajin sect at the time.
Genra's Corruption and Betrayal
While Ayane was chasing Kasumi to the DOA tournament, DOATEC's Super Human Development Project Group made contact with Genra. They kidnapped Genra, and used him as a human test subject for the Omega Project. After gaining his newly enhanced powers, Genra sold out the clan giving them the exact location of the clan's village and true heir; Hayate. Once Kasumi Alpha was completed, they sent her there to capture Hayate, hence the start of Project Epsilon.
Hello Admin, I'm giving this to you due to some information I found on DOA.
According to a Japanese source site, https;//choujin.50webs.com, the incident at Mugen Tenshin that led to Hayate's near death and eventually led to Kasumi's departure took place about one month apart from each other.
The incident happened while Hayate trained outside the village, but Shiden noticed he didn't return, so he sent the clan to find him. A month afterwards Hayate was found. His spinal column was severely damaged, and his nervous system was shot.
After Shiden found this out, he had Kasumi be next in line due to Hayate's half dead state. On her eighteenth birthday she would be the next master, but in her heart she felt even then, that her brother was the only real fit for the job, so she left to find Raidou herself, knowing that she had broken the shinobi code in the process.
The Raidou encounter happened outside the village, and while Hayate was out training at that point in time. that part about a year later was a mistranslation on my end. But Raidou and his father had a Gouki-Goutetsu relationship alright. While Shiden was like Gouken, adhering to the physical and spiritual teachings of the Tenjinmon, Raidou's style was focues on simply murder.
Back to the matter at hand, Raidou was denied succession and so he went after Hayate to steal the Torn Sky Blast of the Mugen Tenshin's source family for himself. A month in the year passed after that.
Are we sure this info is canon? Because Dead or Alive Ultimate clearly has Hayate's back break due to a Torn Sky Blast duel against Raidou which occurred in the village. Not during an unknown incident while out training.
I'm not contesting the time frame, just the event surrounding Hayate's accident.
yeah its canon (most of it anyway), because it wouldn't surprise me that some parts were retconned during Itagaki's time on DOA Ultimate. Hayate's back breaking was just the outter part, in official story the damage was a bit more extensive than that. When Hayate's own Torn Sky Blast was repelled by Raidou's copy of it, Hayate suffered immense damage on his spinal column, and some of the nerve collectives there were damaged beyond conventional repair.
Another interesting thing of note is this, it turns out Genra wasn't supposed to inherit Hajinmon. As it says on the official Japanese (and more slightly detailed on the subject) wikipedia page of DOA, Raidou was supposed to lead Hajinmon, but due to his "Akuma-Syndrome" if you will (seeking power without reason), and his crimes against the family, he was ousted and the role passed to Genra instead.
188.8.131.52 keeps making the same edits to the VF characters' pages, e.g. Pai Chan. It used to be once every few days but today alone it was four times. He/she doesn't contribute anything else to this wiki. Please block this user.
Netherith, I have been thinking over the past few months on whether I should continue to edit the wiki or not, but I have decided to leave the site as I have found it difficult to keep up to date with edits and news, and I have unfortunatly lost joy in editing the site.
I would just like to thank you for letting me edit the site and making me a staff member all those years ago because as you put it, I "earned it".
I hope this will not affect the site too much and I wish you and the site all the best for the future.
I'm talking about a separate wiki. A few days ago, I've seen at the bottom of this wiki a link to the German wiki. But the german wiki is nearly empty. It seems it is years ago the last time someone edited something there.
Netherith, I'm sorry that this made you angry or mad, but in my defense you did say that this wiki should only have DOA-based info and that Ninja Gaiden info should be just on the NG wiki. So once again I'm sorry.
I thought stuff like Ayane and Ryu's Ninja Gaiden history would have been an exception due to it being an integral part of their character history. *shrug* Oh well. I'll see if I can fish it out of the page history and start warping the Ninja Gaiden wiki is accomodate.
Hey Netherith! My name is Doug and I'm a member of Wikia's Community Development Team! With Street Fighter's 25th Anniversary approaching, we wanted to do a retrospective of fighting games in general. I'll be jumping around to different fighting game wikis to ask what the admins/community would like to say about their favorite games!
If you could answer these questions:
When did you get first into fighting games? What is your favorite series?
Who is your favorite fighting game character, or your main/alternate characters?
Any memorable matches you've played and remember?
What fighting games mean to you?
You can submit the answers to these questions either text, or we'd LOVE to have these answered in a video response. We're hoping to do a video and splice clips of people answering questions, along with some fightin' footage!
Let me know if you're interested in participating! Thank you and have a great day : D
