- The following article is based on a subject that has not been officially named; the current title is merely a placeholder.
This article is for a clone of Kasumi that created by Victor Donovan and MIST, who debuted in the 2012 title Dead or Alive 5, and was only playable in the Story Mode.
History[]
Early Life[]
The clone was a product of Project Alpha. It is believed that she was programmed to have Kasumi's memories, and so believed herself to be the real Kasumi.
The Fifth Tournament[]
Before the fifth DOA tournament began, she was wandering the world looking for Alpha-152. During her travels, she asked Helena for help in finding the clone, only to be rebuffed due to little knowledge on the clone's whereabouts. Some time later, she was attacked by Ayane but managed to fend her off. She eventually grew angrier and more hostile as her search continued. She eventually returned to the Freedom Survivor to again question Helena over the clone's location, with her being directed to the oil rig where the fifth DOA tournament was being hosted. Upon finding Donovan's base where the clone was situated, she raided the base, fought Lisa Hamilton and Rig, and appears to destroy Alpha-152. However, upon exiting the base she was attacked by both Hayate and Ayane where she was mortally wounded and left for dead. Hayabusa eventually found the wounded clone and held her in his arms as she died.
Character[]
Appearance[]
As a clone of Kasumi, she looks exactly like her. She has everything from her long copper hair, to her slim physique. She is only seen in Kasumi's original blue ninja dress, and she wears her hair in a yellow ribbon like Kasumi.
Personality[]
Unlike Kasumi α (who later became Alpha-152), she isn't evil and doesn't wish to harm anyone. Programmed to obviously think she was the real Kasumi, she attempts to track down Alpha-152 and destroy her once and for all. However, in the story mode, she insists on doing this herself, and refuses Helena, Hayate and Ayane's help. As she travels around, she finds no one connected to the tournament organization knows where Alpha-152 is or wants to assist her, and she grows impatient, particularly at Helena whom she demands to know her location from. Once she does find the location, she acts out of character from the original Kasumi; she becomes very hostile, and seems more than happy to hurt those that stand in her way to Alpha-152, such as Rig and Lisa, without any regrets as they attempt to prevent her from wandering into the MIST facility. She does not, however, wish to fight Ayane, but she does so, as Ayane was in her way to the MIST facility earlier on. She also fought Hayate towards the end with Ayane backing him, but she appeared even more reluctant to fight her "brother".
Gameplay[]
False Kasumi uses Kasumi's new updated fighting style, which focuses on long combos and juggles, and she uses her teleport abilities as well. Having the exact same style as the real Kasumi, she has weak single strikes, but is also very fast, and has holds that use teleportation as well as a varied amount of attacks from all hit levels for mix ups and throws for virtually every situation, and she can delay her strings nicely to throw off her foes. She however lacks a bit in range and her strings are generally punishable and unsafe if not used carefully.
