The Aerial Gardens is a stage which first appeared in Dead or Alive 2.
Dead or Alive 2
For Kasumi and Ryu Hayabusa's stories, Hayabusa intervenes in Kasumi's climbing of the championship ranks, and while Kasumi pleads with him to leave her alone, Hayabusa reminds her of his promise to her brother, Hayate, to protect her from danger.
Finally, for Ayane and Ein's stories, the pair encounter each other and Ayane wonders if the mysterious fighter is really Hayate, her lost half-brother. Instead of answering back, Ein begins to fight her.
Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate
For Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate, the only fight which has remained in Aerial Gardens is Jann Lee and Leifang's. The other three fights have moved to brand new stages: Suspension Bridge (Kasumi and Hayabusa), Downtown (Tina and Zack), and Yozakura (Ayane and Ein).
While the arena’s exact location is unknown, judging by architecture, the arena is most likely set in China due to the architecture around the mountain and numerous Chinese elements found within the garden and the buildings. The arena itself is a waterfall plateau, bordered by a viewing gallery that is built alongside the falls. The level features multiple tiers with the player being able to knock, or be knocked, down to the lower waterfall plateaus or gallery areas.
In Dead or Alive 2, the matches begin on a large rock plateau with a small wading river, due to the waterfalls, with the elegant viewing galleries surrounding it. The default time of day is sunset/sunrise. In Ultimate, the starting level is somewhat smaller than what it was previously, with the combatants beginning on one of the viewing galleries where they can then break out and fall onto the waterfall plateaus.
